Cookie Run: Ovenbreak is an endless runner mobile game made by DevSisters. In it, you play as a variety of gingerbread cookies as they run as fast as they can from a witch attempting to eat them.
...Or at least, that's how it started.
Since its launch, the lore and story has gotten...pretty out there to say the least. Admittedly, at the current time of writing, it's been some time since I actively played the game, so some of the newer things I'm not very caught up with. I'm also not super familiar with all the shit that's gone down in Cookie Run: Kingdom (which is a spin off with a gameplay style more like...well, as much as I hate to say it, Raid: Shadow Legends), as I just never really played it. But there are things like ancient wizards, cookies locked away, cookies that are cursed in some way, and cookies that just have some really sad stories (everything regarding Dark Choco Cookie still makes me emotional lol).
Now, unfortunately for all of you reading this, this damn game has a hold on me in a very specific way. That way being I have developed a FUCK ton of really weird, oddly specific, self indulgent headcanons/stories with these characters. To the point where I have considered just saying fuck it and taking all of these and spinning them off into my own story/characters, but I can't bring myself to do it. If for whatever reason you want to read about my insane headcanons, then read on. If you're looking for something more informative/canon, probably skip this and just go to the wiki.
(Side Note: I'm gonna preface this whole thing by saying that some of this is...definately going against what is Actually Canon to the story. A major reason being that a good chunk of this was started and made before some things were announced or confirmed, and me not wanting to drastically rewrite things to comply with what we see. So yeah just keep in mind that some of this is going to technically be wrong.)
Our first stop is just gonna be a basic rundown of the characters that are important to this whole thing. This does not include every character in the game (there's like 100-something cookies at this point I'm pretty sure, I can't do things for all of them lol), so nice to get a baseline of who we are dealing with.
(Also sorry for some of these I just don't have a lot to write at the moment lol. If I don't go into details just assume its like what we see in game.)
In terms of the things I focus on, most of it centers on...
Cinnamon Cookie (he/they)--A stage magician with a love for card tricks and illusions! Cinnamon tends to work at a lot of the parties held around where they live. He's someone that always seems to have a smile on his face, and tends to laugh even when it might not be appropriate. They're quick with a trick to cheer someone up! He wants to be able to do real magic like his siblings, but despite all his trying, they can't quite get it down...although their tarot readings are scarily accurate.
Wizard Cookie (he/him)--Cinnamon's younger brother. A powerful wizard (wow who would've guessed) who is always studying or practicing his magic. He has a bit of a short temper, and tends to come off as rude to people. He's constantly trying to learn the secrets of the ancient wizards.
Cream Puff Cookie (she/her)--Cinnamon's little sister, and the youngest of the three. She has incredible talent as a magic user, and has some powerful magic...if only she was able to control it better. Her magic tends to either not work at all, or work a bit too well, and this has gotten her and her family into trouble before.
Moonlight Cookie (she/her)--A powerful, legendary cookie. Moonlight lives and watches over the City of Wizards, a place that Cinny, Wizard, and Cream Puff visit from time to time. She acts as a sort of mother figure to the three of them.
Blueberry Pie Cookie (she/her)--Another resident of the City of Wizards. She's an aunt of sorts to the three. She was cursed to remain in one of the librarys in the City of Wizards after opening a forbidden book, and she tries to make sure others don't make similar mistakes...
Roguefort Cookie (aka Phantom Bleu) (they/them)--A mysterious thief. Recently, they've been targetting some of the fancier parties that Cinny works. So far, nobody has been able to figure out how they choose their targets, most assuming it's just for the thrill of the chase due to some of the items being mysteriously returned after some time. They're cunning, elegant, charming, and seem to plan every move. Despite their actions, Cinnamon finds himself drawn to them...
Walnut Cookie (she/her)--A young detective, doing all she can to catch Phantom Bleu. She's devoted most of her time in pursuit of them, and vows that she will be the one to catch them and figure out who they really are! (And SHE'LL do it properly, unlike someone else she knows...)
...Little does she know, Phantom Bleu is the adoptive sibling she lives with.
She's friends with Cream Puff, and her and Cinny run into each other often since the parties he works at get hit a lot.
Almond Cookie (he/him)--The head detective of the police department, and Walnut's dad. A no-nonsense man, he's also been investigating the Phantom Bleu case. He and Walnut...aren't on very good terms. Almond didn't really take her seriously in her investigations of the case. She wasn't doing it the way the police do it, so how could it be better?
Like Walnut, he and Cinnamon run into each other often.
Sparkling Cookie (he/him)--Cinnamon's closest friend, and the local bartender. He's always there to lend advice or to just listen to your troubles. Will never spill a secret.
Herb Cookie (he/they)--Another of Cinny's friends. He runs a plant nursery. Soft spoken and kind hearted, though he's been known to say some...oddly dark things. Very fond of the carniverous plants he takes care of. He and Sparkling end up together eventually.
Vampire Cookie (any)--Another of Cinny's friends. Suuuuper laid-back, almost to a fault. Tends to be melodramatic. If Sparkling is who you visit for advice, Vampire is who you visit for a distraction. Really likes his wine. Has an air of sadness to him.
Alchemist Cookie (she/her)--Vampire's younger sister. Studious and a bit of a know it all. Also, doesn't believe magic is real. Her and Wizard kinda hate each other.
Whipped Cream Cookie (he/they)--Cinny's friend from work. A ballet dancer who performs at parties a lot. Has the vibe of someone that you think is super super sweet and he is, but also he could easily kill you if you gave them a reason to. He and Cinny might have dated for a bit, but it didn't work out (they're still friends though).
Mint Choco Cookie (he/him)--Another work friend. Plays violin. Doesn't talk much about his life outside of his music.
Cocoa Cookie (she/her)--Another work friend. She's a singer, and often performs alongside Mint Choco. Her and Mint are dating.
At one point, I'll add more of the stories I've actually come up with for them all....eventually.
