Ok so like to start, I'm giving a disclaimer of I am not an expert on Evillious Chronicles in any way shape or form. I have not read the novels or the manga. My main experience with the series is through the songs, which from what I know means I'm missing lots of details. But still. I was having thoughts and now you have to deal with them <3.
Anyway this is gonna be my hot take on why master of the hellish yard kinda makes for a better wrath song than Muzzle of Nemesis.
(Though as a side note unrelated to this, cute thing I realized is the intro to hellish yard actually references Wordplay in it's melody. I thought that was neat.)
Like dont get me wrong, I love Muzzle of Nemesis. but it is kinda the weakest sin song like. Story wise I think?
For one, its too interconnected with other stuff. Like one of the cool things with the sins songs imo is that they can stand on their own as stories. They have other things going on (like Venomania has The Portrait Glassred Drew and Flower of the Plateau as connected parts, and Daughter of Evil has...well all of its bullshit lol) but still. You can get a full story
But Muzzle of Nemesis kinda depends on Judgement of Corruption and (to a lesser extent) The Last Revolver. Its not as seperated as the others. If that makes sense?
And also, more importantly...this doesnt really. It doesnt feel like the peak of wrath, yknow?
Like yeah Nemesis is fucking pissed at what Gallerian has done. But she's justified
He hurt a FUCK ton of people! Including her! She should get to kill this asshole and she should be angry about it!
And like. The thing with the other sin songs is that they are not justified in what they are doing. Conchita is not justified in eating people (even if she had milf swag while doing it). Riliane is not justified in ruling her kingdom the way she did. Nemesis is absolutely justified in wanting to kill Gallerian. Hell, she literally gave Gallerian an out if he didn't want to die. She offered him mercy, he just didn't accept it because it would mean giving up his fortune.
Muzzle is like. Its the start of Wrath. Honestly actually Wrath is kinda all three songs, it's Last Revolver, Muzzle of Nemesis, and master of the hellish yard. It's the progression. It's the rage building.
hellish yard feels more like a standalone story. And it is the Epitome of Wrath imo, truthfully this time. This is Nemesis literally destroying the whole fucking world.
I do get like why it is what it is (it's part of the Four Endings sub-series, which are the songs about the end of the world, so it does kinda fit more there) but....still.
